New Ebook Available!

UPDATE: The cover art has changed since this post. I designed a new and better cover.
Upon the Summit of the City:

For the last few years, Arkat Rowland Hawkes has done everything in his power to avoid falling asleep.  He works all day, every day, and stuffs his veins with powerful drugs to keep his mind working.  It's taking a toll, but it's better than the alternative - his dreams.  One day, his perfect routine is interrupted when an ancient Android is brought to the factory where Arkat works.  Against all the rules and morals of his home world, Arkat decides to join her in a desperate fight for survival.  Old wounds are opened, preconceptions are challenged, and Arkat is led to a discovery that will change the very face of the universe.

For the last few months I've been busting my ass on this story.  I started it as a quick, two-week project, and it immediately grew beyond my intentions.  For whatever reason, I saw a potential in this story to be more than what it set out to be.
Michelangelo used to stare at blocks of stone, trying to see the statue within before his chisel ever touched the marble.  The statue was already in there, he just had to find it.  Now, I am BY NO MEANS comparing myself to the great master sculptor, but for the first time in my writing career, I went through this process of gradual discovery.  I sat down at the keys and got the story on the page, and suddenly I saw the statue within the stone.  Novice that I am, it took me a great deal of time and chiseling, but I think I've finally whittled it down to what it was always meant to be.  Whether it is a thing of beauty or not, I leave up to you to decide.
1.  If you have a Kindle or the Kindle App for your smartphone, then in your settings there should be an item called the "Send-to-Kindle" email address.  Give me that email address!  Either email it to me at or send it to me via a Facebook message or by posting it as a comment on this blog.
2.  I will email the story directly to your Kindle!  It's that easy!
3.  If you have another type of e-reader or ebook app, let me know what kind, and I'll email you the proper format.  I can convert my ebooks into a variety of formats that should keep everyone covered.
4.  If you know what format you need, just let me know and I'll email it to you.  The most common is .epub, but Kindle devices use .mobi.  Chances are you need one of those two.

I have also been working on getting all my existing works into proper ebook format with the help of a wonderful program called Calibre, and my plan for the future is to go 100% independent self-published with my SHORT FICTION.  With any upcoming novels, I plan to seek traditional publication.  So here's how this is going to work:
1. All of the existing .PDF versions of my earliest stories will continue to be available for free via this site.  But I will not be making any more of these.
2. I have removed all my ebooks from  Though very well designed for non-fiction authors, I have found that the Kindle Direct Publishing format doesn't work well for me.  Also, their exclusive e-publishing contract is unnecessarily limiting.
3. I will EVENTUALY get my ebooks on GooglePlay and iBooks.  I've been squawking about that since I started this page, and I still haven't managed to get it done.  BUT I WILL.  That way you can download my stuff directly on your phone.
4. I am going to set up an Ebay store through which I will sell my NEWLY REVISED, RE-FORMATTED EBOOKS.  These are going to be the definitive versions, with BRAND-NEW COVER ART, as well as revised text.  If you want to support what I'm trying to do by buying my books, this will be my preferred method of interaction.  This will also be the cheapest way to get my books!  More details to come in the next few weeks.

So email me or message me to get your FREE COPY of my latest novella, Upon the Summit of the City, and keep checking here for news regarding my other endeavors!
